Can I install Crystal Ease on a computer already running Crystal Reports?

Crystal Ease^® was not designed to be installed on a computer running Crystal Reports.  Crystal Ease^® was developed to extend the functionality of Crystal Reports and aid in report distribution to client machines; which typically do not have Crystal Reports installed. 

Since this was not the design intent the installation will not allow you to continue if Crystal Reports was detected on your computer.

Workaround:

If you need to install on a machine with Crystal Reports, you can do so by following these steps;

1. locate crw32.exe and rename it to crw32.old

2. install Crystal Ease

3. locate crw32.old and rename it to crw32.exe

Now you will be able to run both Crystal Ease and Crystal Reports on the same machine.
